Ad positioning is dependent on many factors. Ads are always placed in their relevant headings.
There are several factors that determine the layout of a page.
- Ad size
- Alphabetical Placement
- Top to Bottom
- Outside to inside
The largest (see our Ad Size Page) ads come first in the heading, next is alphabetical order. Two ads that are the same size will be arranged by alphabetical order. Next is top to bottom, we start at the top and work to the bottom. Finally, ads are placed outside to inside. Readers tend to view the pages from the outside and work to the inside on both the left and right pages.
People tend to look at a few ads, find what they are looking for and make a call. Ads that contain the information needed along with a good layout always do better. Too much information is just as bad as not enough information.
Most people will also go to a display ad as opposed to general text as there is more information in the ad. (We use metered ads to prove that) Most people are not brand loyal but there are many factors that sway a choice.
